Introduction

The Anti-Ragging Cell of Ganga Global Institute of Management Studies is committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and ragging-free campus environment for all students. The institution strictly follows the regulations and guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission and directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India regarding the prevention and prohibition of ragging in educational institutions.

The institute maintains zero tolerance towards ragging in any form and ensures strict disciplinary action against those involved in ragging activities.

Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Cell

The Anti-Ragging Cell works with the following objectives:

·         To prevent ragging in any form on campus.

·         To create awareness among students about anti-ragging laws and regulations.

·         To promote a friendly and supportive environment for newly admitted students.

·         To ensure strict monitoring and immediate action in case of ragging incidents.

·         To provide a safe platform for students to report complaints confidentially.

What Constitutes Ragging

Ragging includes any act that causes physical, psychological, or emotional harm to a student. Examples include:

·         Verbal abuse or humiliation

·         Physical harassment or intimidation

·         Forcing students to perform humiliating acts

·         Mental harassment or bullying

·         Any activity that threatens the dignity or safety of students

Such acts are strictly prohibited inside the campus, hostels, transport facilities, and nearby premises.

Anti-Ragging Policy

The institution implements a strict anti-ragging policy which includes:

·         Mandatory anti-ragging undertaking by students and parents at the time of admission

·         Continuous monitoring of campus premises

·         Immediate inquiry and disciplinary action in case of complaints

Students found guilty of ragging may face strict disciplinary action, including suspension, rustication, or expulsion as per institutional rules and regulatory guidelines.

Online Complaint Registration Mechanism

Students can report ragging incidents through the online complaint portal provided by the institution. Complaints can be submitted confidentially and will be handled by the Anti-Ragging Committee.

 After submission, the complaint will be reviewed by the Anti-Ragging Cell and appropriate action will be taken immediately.
